Digital o2 staff members Brad and Dustin recently took part in the 96km Kokoda Challenge on the Gold Coast raising much needed funds for the Kokoda Youth Foundation.

The Kokoda Youth Foundation is an Australian charity that runs a variety of youth programs. These programs encourage youth in our local communities to undergo life changing experiences, allowing them to reach their full potential as young adults. Programs are focused on getting young Australians to engage with the Kokoda values of … Courage – Endurance – Mateship – Sacrifice

The Kokoda Challenge took place on July 16th from 7am, starting at the Mudgeeraba Bowls Club, hiking through the Gold Coast Hinterland for 96km with over 4000 metres of elevation, day and night (and day), finishing at the Nerang Velodrome just before 12PM Sunday. The team managed to complete the event in 29 Hours 40 Minutes earning a well-earned rest and beverage.

Digital o2 Support Manager, Brad Jones said;
“This is by far the most physically exhaustive and mentally challenging thing I have ever done. This event challenges what you are capable of and proves you can exceed even your own beliefs and expectations”.

The team thanks sponsors and all those who donated to the Kokoda Youth Foundation as well as their invaluable support crew who ensured the team were fed, supplied with water, helped with medical needs like strapping and bought blankets and clothing to keep them warm through the night.

Our teams are proud to have raised over $5000 to this worthy cause.
